ISO 45001
Occupational Health and Safety
(former names: MSZ 28001 - OHSAS 18001)
How important is it for you to protect the health of your employees and to create and, maintain a working environment that meets the various regulatory requirements and, makes employees feel safer at their workplace?
Health protection
Have you ever counted how many days your staffs spend on sick leave in a year because of problems that could have been prevented, and what kind of losses these cause to the organization?
If you have already dealt with these problems, you will certainly have met the international regulations beyond the national legal framework, which are available to organisations as a tool to support them in creating a working environment where employees can perform their duties in healthily and safely way every day.
What does Occupational Health and Safety Management System mean?
It is a management system based on objective facts and risk assessment, developed and continuously maintained by the top management of the organization with the aim to support them in fact-based decision making and objective evaluations in order to improve the health and safety of its employees even beyond the legal obligations.
The ISO 45001 Standard (which is based on the international OHSAS 18001 - Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Standard) is a voluntary standard that is able to provide such a framework.

Benefits of implementing ISO 45001
Internally:
- The satisfaction of your colleagues and employees will increase as they feel that their employer cares about their health and safety.
- The number of sick days will reduce, which in turn will reduce the organisation’s loss of income due to production loss, and overall increase efficiency.
- • By evaluating and managing “near-accidents” with the appropriate emphasis, your employees' sense of security and trust will constantly increase, leading to lower fluctuations, ensuring a stable, reliable workforce for the employer.
Benefits of implementing ISO 45001
Externally:
- In case of labour authority inspections the responsible manager will be able to react quickly and provide easily all requested documents and data for examination
- Markets that have not been available due to a lack of a certified OSHAS system will open.
- Good relationship will evolve between actors of the market, employees and authorities working in the same sector, as the management system provides a framework for communication of benchmarks and opens further development opportunities for the organization.
